What is the CUBE?

Robinson High School College and Career Center , “The Cube”, is

supported and funded by the RHS Foundation to support the school’s goals

involving post-secondary academic and career planning for students. “The

Cube” is intended to be used as a resource center for students so they may

acquire the information needed to develop a concrete plan for college, technical

training programs, the military, or employment upon graduation.

Parent volunteers staff The Cube and support the college and career counselor

in providing resources and information to students. Information is conveyed to

students through individual meetings, small group discussions, and “Naviance

Student” (a web-based college & career planning program). Students seem most

responsive to individual meetings where, through guided conversation, they are

encouraged to ‘converse’ about their post-graduation plans.

Information and assistance provided includes:

  •  SAT/ACT and ASVAB details and dates
  •  Information on test preparation
  •  Financial Aid resources including FAFSA and FFAA facts
  •  Scholarship opportunities including the Florida Bright Futures program
  •  NCAA registration
  •  2 and 4 yr. colleges, technical colleges/programs, military, and apprenticeship opportunities available
  •  Dates and deadlines for applications, recommendations, college visits, and special events like college fairs, FAFSA Night, etc.
  • Help with completing college and scholarship applications
  •  Meetings with college, technical college/program, and military reps
  •  General guidance as to the importance of doing well in high school to achieve one’s goals

** The goal is that all students be provided the information they need to make decisions that

encourage their future academic and vocational achievement. 2020-2021, CUBE Volunteers

will be meeting virtually with students .
